Terms of Use
Last updated: October 13, 2026
About these terms
These terms cover the WodWiz apps (on your phone and at app.wodwiz.com) and this website, including the benchmark pages. WodWiz is made by WodWiz LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company (“WodWiz”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using WodWiz, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use WodWiz.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 years old to have an account.
- Use your real name or the name your gym knows you by, and an email address you can receive mail at.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us at hello@wodwiz.com if you think someone else is using it.
- One account per person, and don't sign in as someone else.
Your gym
WodWiz works through your gym. Your gym invites you, decides who's in it and what roles they have, and can remove you from the gym. Your gym's coaches post its workouts and news, and they're responsible for that content and for the coaching they give you. What you log is shared with the people in your gym as described in the Privacy Policy and, in the app, under Settings → Your data → “Who sees what”.
If you run a gym on WodWiz, you're responsible for inviting only people who want to be invited, and for what your coaches post. Coaches and owners can remove posts in their gym that break the community rules below.
The member information a gym adds (names, email addresses, a roster or results history it imports) is the gym's. We process it on the gym's behalf, only to run WodWiz for the gym and its members, as described in the Privacy Policy, and we don't sell it or use it for advertising. The gym is responsible for having its members' OK to add them. Once a member joins, their account and what they log are also theirs: they can download it or delete it at any time.
Your gym's subscription
A gym pays for WodWiz; members don't. A new gym starts on a free trial with no card needed. To keep using WodWiz after the trial, the gym's owner sets up a subscription, billed through our payment processor, Stripe, at the price shown when they subscribe. Owners can update the card, see invoices or cancel at any time from the gym's settings.
If a trial ends without a subscription, or a payment fails and isn't fixed within 5 days, the gym is paused: its members, coaches included, can't use the app until billing is sorted out. Nothing is deleted while a gym is paused. Unless the law says otherwise, payments aren't refundable. If we change the price, we'll tell owners by email at least 30 days before it applies.
What you post
Your results, notes, comments, photos and other things you put into WodWiz are yours. You give us permission to store them, show them to the people they're shared with, and process them as needed to run WodWiz (for example, to work out your PRs and working weights). That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for the things the Privacy Policy says stay with your gym, and copies in backups until they expire.
You're responsible for what you post. Only post things you have the right to share, and don't post other people's private information.
Community rules
WodWiz is for training with your gym. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post or send anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- attacks people for who they are, including their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or body;
- is sexually explicit, violent or otherwise obscene;
- impersonates someone, or misleads people about who you are;
- is spam or advertising, or promotes anything illegal or dangerous; or
- shares someone else's personal information without their permission.
We can remove anything that breaks these rules, and suspend or close the account that posted it, without notice. Gym owners and coaches can also act on what happens in their gym.
Reporting content or a person
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it in the app (the “⋯” menu on a comment, result, post, reply or profile), email hello@wodwiz.com with your gym's name, who posted it and what it says, or tell your gym's coach or owner. We review every report and act on it within 24 hours. You can also block someone, so you no longer see what they post.
Health & safety
WodWiz isn't medical, health or fitness advice, and it isn't a coach. The working weights, estimated maxes, pacing and conversions it shows are calculations from the numbers you and your gym enter, and they can be wrong if those numbers are. Functional fitness training is demanding and carries a real risk of injury. Talk to a qualified professional before you start a program, follow your coach, scale movements and loads to your ability, and stop if something hurts. You take part in any workout at your own risk.
The benchmark data
The structured benchmark data on this site comes from the open WodWiz Open WOD Database and is licensed under CC BY 4.0. You're welcome to use that dataset under its own license; this site is one way to browse it.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or break WodWiz, its API or its security;
- try to see data that isn't shared with you, or another gym's data;
- use automated tools to scrape or hammer WodWiz beyond reasonable use;
- misuse forms (spam, fake or other people's email addresses); or
- use the WodWiz name or logo in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account, or from the “paused” screen if your gym is paused), on the web, or by emailing us. The Privacy Policy explains what that removes. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may change or stop parts of WodWiz; if we ever shut WodWiz down, we'll give you notice and a chance to download your results first.
Apps from the App Store
If you got the WodWiz app from Apple's App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; contact us instead.
- If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it (the app is free). Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it doesn't meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims.
- If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm you're not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and you're not on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
Our brand
The WodWiz name, logo, mascot and design belong to WodWiz LLC. The benchmark data is separately licensed as noted above, but the branding and the way WodWiz presents things are not covered by that license.
Trademarks
CrossFit® is a registered trademark of CrossFit, LLC. WodWiz LLC is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CrossFit, LLC. References to CrossFit, benchmark workout names, and related terms are used descriptively to identify the workouts and the training community they come from.
No warranty
WodWiz is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it's complete, error-free or always available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, WodWiz LLC isn't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss or injury arising from your training or from the workout information, weights or numbers in WodWiz. Again: train safely and at your own risk.
Changes
We may update these terms as WodWiz grows. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email first.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
