Scaling
Scaled
Pike push-ups, pistols to a box, banded pull-ups, 3 rounds. Same rule as Mary: if most movements need scaling, the workout is telling you to do Cindy.
Beginner
Do Cindy or scaled Mary first. Maggie is volume stacked on top of skill — earn the skill at lower volume.
The story
Five rounds of handstand push-ups, one-legged squats, and pull-ups — Mary's structure stretched into fixed rounds at higher volume. A skill-gated grinder: 100 handstand push-ups and 300 pistols total put it firmly in advanced territory. Part of CrossFit's original 'Girls' benchmark series — named workouts introduced by founder Greg Glassman starting in 2003, on the logic that anything that leaves you flat on your back deserves a name like a storm. They serve as repeatable fitness tests: revisit one every few months and the clock tells you whether you're fitter. First posted to CrossFit.com on 2006-07-28.
