Grettel
Ten rounds of three clean and jerks and three burpees over the bar — a short-interval couplet that repeats a small barbell and bodyweight pairing many times rather than escalating volume.

Movements in this workout
Scaling
Scaled
Drop the barbell load until the intended round rhythm survives — short couplets only test what they're meant to when the bar keeps moving.
Beginner
Empty bar or dumbbells with halved reps, treating it as barbell-cycling practice under a light clock.
The story
One of the newer Girls: a fast barbell couplet in the Fran mold — few reps, quick rounds, and a load that stays light only if your technique holds under a redlined heart rate. Part of CrossFit's original 'Girls' benchmark series — named workouts introduced by founder Greg Glassman starting in 2003, on the logic that anything that leaves you flat on your back deserves a name like a storm. They serve as repeatable fitness tests: revisit one every few months and the clock tells you whether you're fitter. First posted to CrossFit.com on 2021-01-03.
